Made in Mexico in Newmarket

Update on this restaurant went back June 2019, I am giving it a 5 star in comparison to the 3 star previously. Very impressed on how our server Kelsey explained, and suggested what I can have from the extensive menu she spoke with the Chef and totally modified for my food allergies which is a BIG BIG deal to me. Very happy with the selection, very tasty big servings.Large assortment of drinks, their margarita is very good. There is a outdoor patio, which can be revamped with some colourful pots of flowers etc. Will absolutely go again even though I don't live anywhere near there.

Still the best restaurant in Newmarket. Even during a global pandemic and that's saying something. You can tell they put love into the food. Mexico is my favorite country and I've been there alot, this place is on par. Ordered a few weeks ago from a different restaurant (not made in Mexico) and I had to throw it out. This meal was extremely refreshing

Amazing restaurant, props out to the kitchen staff for making amazing food. The fish tacos and nortenos, guac, chips and dip. Everything was spot on. Extremely fresh and tasty, would recommend.

Not happy with food quality, will not return. Guacamole was an indeterminate green paste (in center small container in my photo). Tortilla soup was also not good. Meat quality was good (barbacoa), and drinks were good (margarita).

The food is great and the drinks are even better. The frozen Margarita's where amazing, you've gotta eat here. Lol. This restaurant was featured on the show Y.G.E.H. and with good reason!!! If you love Mexican food this place is for you.

I absolutely love the food! I'm a good cook so I find it hard to eat at restaurants as so often the meals are disappointing. But this place came out of nowhere for me, I was not unprepared for how much I loved the food, the choices and the service. My new favourite restaurant in Newmarket area. Especially loved the gluten free options!

Food was excellent and the wait staff amazing, the street style tacos are about as authentic as you can get !

My husband and I had dinner here last night. I know that circumstances were different last year but I must say that the food was better last year. We did have to wait a long time for our food as well . It was awfully nice to be able to sit on the patio though once again. I hope that this will improve as it would be a shame. We also found that they were not serving alot of items due to the pandemic. I would also suggest that perhaps being offered drinks during the meal would be nice.

Everything was great at MIM. Very nice and friendly staff, great delicious food with reasonable prices, and a variety of drinks. Definitely would go again.

Prices are justified by their delicious and tasty food. The churros were ok. But seemed to be overcooked, and I'd like for them to come with chocolate(nutella) to dip. I would've liked to try a few of their cocktails but I believe that paying $9.95 for one is a little too expensive (especially since you can go down the street to hungry brew hops). No offense to made in Mexico. I'm still going to come back to try all the other meals you serve. Also! The service here was fantastic, one of the other reasons why I'll come back here.

Excellent food, lots of yummy choices! Doing an interior Reno so only patio seating so far but definitely worth the trip to Newmarket!

I love the head bartender, the lady who is always there. She is very approachable and easy to speak to. She educated us on the Mexican fighting masks behind her and where they came from. She was very attentive. The food is also amazing. No complaints and a great atmosphere with lots of room for large parties too.

Cool place in downtown Newmarket! It's a lively place with a nice patio on the main road. If you love tacos and are in the area, you need to check this place out! Churros are amazing too.

I ordered take out. The food was great, i only wish the food came in paper containers that could be put in the green bin because everything was in huge styrofoam containers which will never biodegrade.

Three orders were good but two orders they forgot the cheese, jalapenos, guacamole, two house salads, sour cream, and taco sauce.

This restaurant is real good. The decor is very good to the Mexican theme. Most importantly, the food is authentic and tastes pretty good, although maybe a little spicy for my taste buds. The staff and the bartender are just amazing and so good to our group. Will be back for the food, the atmosphere and the service.

Food, drinks, and atmosphere were excellent. Social distancing was adhered to on the patio. We had an excellent time

Made in Mexico hits it out of the park with fantastic food and great service! This place offers a menu with a wide variety of Mexican dishes; from burritos to shrimp tacos. Had the Chimichangas with beef; just a fantastic meal! A great place to go for groups that has plenty of room for everyone!

This place has simple and delicious menu of Mexican style food. We ordered different taco combos that you can customize through a simple 3 step process. These combos are about $20 each and you get 5 tacos with your choice of meat with two sides. If your are looking for a basic Mexican food experience this place is a good start. If your are looking for a full Mexican ethnic food experience then this is not the place. The interior is simple bar layout with plenty of tables. It's not 5 star because the service was slow and we had to go and get the waitress a few time, it could be explained due to the fact that she was serving lots of tables. It does get pretty busy in there during peak hours.

The food here is definitely not "Made In Mexico". The food was half bland, half too salty and food came out lukewarm. The drinks we got (mojito) was pretty good actually and I can't complain of the service as the waitress was very nice. Which is why I gave a modest 3 stars.

The food is amazing here. The nachos with carnitas were devoured in a matter of minutes so much flavor, the Chipotle chicken Street tacos with the tortilla soup was super delicious!

Amazing variety of options, and they serve in times I didn’t know were possible! Also home to the greatest nacho chips I’ve ever eaten! It was my favourite restaurant, after my first visit. I 100% recommend this to anyone looking for quality food after a long day. Do plug your nose when you enter the washroom, as it can smell funky in there.

Great selection on menu, huge portions, the tortilla soup wasn't my favourite, the empanadas were good but not amazing, everything else we had was good. Nice patio on downtown strip, public parking nearby.

Getting sick of my own cooking, I am delighted that Made In Mexico is offering meal kits. My expectations were surpassed when I ordered the taco & fajita kit. My order was ready for pick up the next day, the amount of food was far greater than what I expected and the customer service was exceptional. The food was just as delicious as when prepared in restaurant!

Have been a loyal customer for the past 5 years. Delicious food, great service and good portion size. Highly recommended! Just wish they would open a new restaurant in Markham/Richmond Hill.

Simply outstanding! Fresh, plentiful and well priced. We have been here a few times and have not been disappointed. The decor and atmosphere are both wonderful. Customer service is some of the best around.

This is our go to restaurant, we have celebrated birthdays anniversaries, get togethers.. everything here..food is always amazing and usually the service is amazing. However we visited last night with some friends and the hostess was down right rude without justification! I realize it was a busy Friday night, and circumstances around COVID are not ideal but I was so taken a back with her attitude and coy attitude. I was embarrassed as I suggested this place to our group and raved about their food and service, I was seriously shocked. 6 stars for food 0 stars for service

Great restaurant for family. They have kids menu and coloring activity for kids. My daughter fell in love with mexican food since our first visit when she was 2.5 year old. Its really nice in the summer when they open up the windows in front.

I was working as a taster and QA in food industry. And definitely I recommend this place to everyone if they want to try real Mexican food.

Very affordable dishes. Everything is always fresh. Decor is awesome. Very clean and welcoming. Love this place. Everything tasted good. Just was not impressed on how it was put together. My tacos fell apart and not enough sauce on my enchaladas.

The portions are good and the menu has a large selection of typical Mexican restaurant favourites. The food is okay. I've had better but it's all about expectations. If you are looking for a high end dinning experience this is not the choice I would make. However the atmosphere is great. The decor is excellent and interesting from famous Mexicans bios to factual tidbits on Margaritas, Corona, etc.It is the perfect spot for a family gathering. Kid friendly.

Enchiladas and chimichangas are out of this world tasty.. the jalapeno poppers were huge jalapenos fill with a flavourless meat type filling.. super greasy but every else is excellent!

Came here for drinks, just look at the margarita portions. Flavours were great and perfect for a sunday afternoon. We also ordered nachos to munch on and the portion was huge as well. Will definitely come here again. Loved the decor!

One of the better Mexican restaurants in the York region. Food is great! A little on the Tex-Mex side IMO, having lived south of the border before. That being said, still fabulous and probably more inline with the palette of us Canadians. Location is right on Main St. with plenty of parking lots in the vicinity. The place gets slammed on the weekends so come prepared to wait a half hour, or more, during meal times. Staff is friendly, but overwhelmed. And orders will take time. The atmosphere is semi-chaotic. Though they have a bar, and smaller table settings for couples, there are also large tables for groups (families) so a romantic dinner you will NOT have. There were several crying children adding to our background music. Food is 4-5 star, but atmosphere/wait/noise bring it down a star overall.

I celebrated my birthday this evening in this excellent restaurant. happy to tell that we enjoyed a brilliant evening and the place was clearly one of the reasons for this successful celebration. The waiters participated in a pleasant manner, the cooking was tasty and my guests were so glad. We shall absolutely visit again for more joyful events. Thank you very much.

Delicious and authentic mexican food, one of the best I've ever tried.

The food and the service are good.A bit of a wait time, only one waiter.But a dirty washroom and a few details...I will be happy to come back, if you guys prove you've made improvements.
